Can I ask what part a U2.com subscription may have or did play regarding availability and cost?
Thanks

Hi Scott,
True, I did snag my VIP tickets on the very first day (first 20 seconds, actually) of the U2.com member pre-sale. I noticed as early as Friday (and it was likely before that) that the VIP ticket set had already sold out before this morning's general availability. However, even if I had not been a member, I had more than one opportunity to get pre-sale tickets on the first pre-sale day through membership in various other non-U2 services. Membership in U2.com did not affect price at all - I compared prices between the options I had and they were all the same.

My son's friend pointed this out on http//:www.muse.mu:
We are pleased to confirm that Muse will be touring in the UK, Europe and North America this autumn. Full details on the UK and European dates will be announced soon, but for now we can confirm that the band will be special guest to U2 at a number of their North American shows this September including New York on September 24th. The remaining U2 dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
I hope they come to Chicago.
Joe

Tom, your girl must have bought them from a scalper. Buying them from the authorized seller only (yeah, I know, "only") cost $522 each for the Chicago show. Not $5000. Unless she happened to buy Red Zone tickets, but those were on sale as part of an auction to raise funds for charity.
