Well, last night's test was pretty definitive - in just a few hours there were a dozen seeders (now down to 8, but that's still really good). I still see a lot of people connected to it, and traffic is flowing very very well. So, anyone new coming to U2unes who has not yet grabbed the Portland show, please do so using the alternate download location. For those of you who had already grabbed it but were having problems, definitely keep the files you have but download the new torrent and it should restart the seed where the U2unes tracker left off and you will complete the files quickly.
I have been toying with the idea of dropping my own tracker in favor of a public and proven one like Pirate Bay. This test goes a long way to convincing me I should just do that from now on. Perhaps with the next show that will be the one I use. I don't really like the idea of giving up that level of control, but it sure does seem to work a heck of a lot better. For the curious, the U2unes Torrent Tracker is on a Comcast network, and we all know how badly Comcast has been abusing Bittorrent traffic.
