Today is the 25th anniversary of U2's famous performance at Red Rocks. It was a defining moment for the band, a standout performance in rock history, and it's just so much fun to listen to over and over. To celebrate, U2unes is sharing the complete Red Rocks soundboard with all of you once again. Yes, it's been here twice before, and I can't think of any other bootleg that's graced this page more than twice. I bet most of you long-time readers already have it, but those of you who've only been coming here for a year of less are in for a treat. I'm not going to spend any time gushing about how good this recording is and why you should download it. It's a classic must-have, and that's all you need to know until it's reverberating in your ears. If you feel you simply must have more, you can click the Read More link below to see an article from the Denver Post that should take care of any need you may have for eloquent descriptive prose.

This is so cool! What can I say but "Thanks!"
I was at the Tulsa show at the "Old Lady on Brady" just 4 days later. It was an amazing concert.
The remastered Lloyd Noble show in Norman, OK, on the 10th of June is a good sounding show. Interestingly, Bono seems to think that he's in Tulsa because at about 2:15 into "I Will Follow" he says "Tulsa, Oklahoma."

I must make a correction to my previous comment.
Bono does mention Tulsa, Oklahoma, in "I Will Follow." But in the intro remarks for "40," Bono mentions that some of the fans at the Tulsa show from the night before were also in the audience for that show at Norman, OK. So, perhaps, he wasn't confused.

this is not the complete show from red rocks, "I threw a brick" and "a day without me" are from pre-war london 1982. the source of this bootleg is the italian silver pressed cd titled "the concert" which had those 2 tracks as bonus at the end of disc 2. the reason is that the silver disc used as source a double vinyl lp radio show titled "the u2 concert" (you can hear some pops during october) and produced by "the source" in US in 1983. this radio show omitted those 2 songs that were also never broadcasted.
so the exact lineage should be:
"the u2 concert" vinyl lp radio show > DAT > "the concert" silver cd > remastering + rebuilding setlist with the 2 london 1982 tracks > SHN

Bellissimo,
I think you are referring to the other version of this date that I have. Doing some more research, again, this is what I've found:
Of the two sources I have, one matches the description that you mentioned, the LP-turned-CD known as "The Concert". Those two tracks come tacked on at the end, and they sound different from the rest of the performance (from 1982-12-06 London as you say). Info about it can be found here.
The other version I have, the one I chose to share, is documented here. A careful listen to the transition from NYD to Brick is either constant or very carefully mastered to sound like it is. Likewise the move from ADWM to Gloria. There's no change in the character, quality, or sound of the performance from these tracks and the rest of the recording (again, good mastering from similar sources could remove any difference), compared to a very clear difference between these tracks from "The Concert".
I think the best way to determine where the tracks I share today came from is with a careful listen of a good source of the London concert and these tracks trying to pick out characteristic markers. Fortunately, there's a half dozen quality sources of the London show. Having done that, I would have to agree and confirm that these tracks are from London and not Denver.
That said, "The Concert" and this version have a different sound character from each other. I don't think someone simply took "The Concert" and re-ordered the tracks. Either they took that recording, moved tracks, and performed quite a bit of remastering; or they took a different source of the Red Rocks performance, a different source of the London performance, and remastered them together. These tracks are definitely from London, but I am no yet convinced the version I've shared here is or is from "The Concert".
Thanks!
