Here we go with a War tour bootleg, the last show from the first leg of the tour, performed in Bourges, France. I hesitated on this one. The info I have about this one claims it's from the soundboard, but does not provide any lineage. I'm not a big fan of the ambiguous sources like this one. There is a slight hiss throughout the recording at the high end, sometimes very loud parts of the show have a little static in them at the low end, and I think it runs just a little slow. I tried various iTunes eq presets as well as some manual tweaks, and really there isn't much you can do to improve things beyond the default Rock preset. Despite this quick list of negatives, the overall sound quality is still actually pretty good. Lyrics are clear, though instruments are a bit muddy. I'm not sure if the sound is what it is because of the venue (a tent at a festival) or a result of too many transfers on cassettes.

As much as I've trashed this recording, I do want to stress that I still think it is pretty good. I like Bono's impromptu moments and interaction with the audience. "Tomorrow" makes a rare appearance and I've posted that as the sample for the week so you have an idea what this concert sounds like. The concert flows fine, except for an apparent cut at the end of "Tomorrow" which has me thinking this might not be a soundboard as claimed. I do think you'll enjoy having it in your collection, though.

I don't have much time to add any more. We're still trying to get our house back in order after some wild Halloween shenanigans!
